Job Description

Applications are invited for the position of Special Needs Assistant Maternity Leave in Dunmore Community School.

1. This position is a Maternity Leave commencing on the 18th of September 2023. The position can only be filled in accordance with DES regulations and pending approval of the Department of Education & Skills and the Board of Management of Dunmore Community School and subject to Garda Vetting.

2. Previous experience working in Post Primary with a diverse cohort of students with differing requirements is desirable. Competency in working with ICT and education-related platforms such as Microsoft TEAMS and Onenote is essential and the ability to work as part of an SNA team is also required.

3. Please submit a letter of application, a completed Panel Form (if applicable) and a CV by post by Friday the 11th of August 2023. The CV should include qualifications, relevant experience in a post-primary setting and two recent references. All applicants must provide up-to-date Garda Vetting.

4. Applications from SNAs on the SNA panel must have the panel form clearly attached to the front of their CV and please indicate this on your letter of application.

5. Applications are only accepted by post, to the school address. Please mark the envelope "SNA Recruitment." Please ensure you provide 4 copies of your application by post only before the 11th of August.

We intend to hold the interviews in person, but in the unlikely event of the necessity of holding interviews remotely, it is the responsibility of the candidate that:
• the device used, meeting software (Microsoft TEAMS) and connectivity have been tested, in the location, ideally a number of working days in advance so that any potential issues can be resolved in time
• the internet connection is stable
• the location is quiet, free of any background noise or possible interruptions
• where prompted to enter a username that an appropriate name is entered; do not enter nicknames, etc.
• external video calls are blocked for the duration of the interview
• the background is professional, ideally a blank wall
• the lighting does not cause a glare or place your profile in shadow on screen
• the device's web camera and audio are working
• the device is fully charged or connected to a mains charger
• the camera is positioned so as to view your shoulders and above (position the camera so that you are looking up slightly and centred on the screen)
• that your mobile phone is to hand, and switched to silent
• Have a glass or bottle of water available
